More Singaporeans better educated

It is well affirmed that More Singaporeans are now better educated, with more being able to read in two or more languages compared to the situation five years ago. They are maintaining their diversity in their religious beliefs respectively as Buddhists or Taoist, Christians, Muslims and Hindus. It is revealed that more Singaporeans also convey that they have no religious affiliation, according to findings from the General Household Survey 2015.

The quality survey offers data in fields like basic demographic characteristics, education, language, religion, transport and housing. One could also note that the last general household survey was duly released in 2005. The findings by the Department of Statistics, professionally found that compared to the 2010 population, Singaporeans are now better educated. Moreover among the non-student population aged 25 and above, 52 per cent of them duly possessed post-secondary qualifications in 2015, up from the 46.5 per cent in 2010.

It was also noted that literacy rate among the population was high, and more are literate in two or more languages. During 2015, 73.2 per cent of the literate residents aged 15 and above were professionally able to read in two or more languages, up from the 70.5 per cent in 2010. By expediently maintaining their diversity in religious beliefs, 18.5 per cent of the residents also had no such religious affiliation last year, an increase from the 17 per cent in 2010.
