With the efficacious support, more than 370 companies would professionally offer such beneficial intern-ships an quality initiative under the national SkillsFuture movement to encourage workers and students to marvel industry. It is also ameliorated with regard to respective skills to ITE students.These prosperous enhanced intern-ships, with defined learning outcomes and better mentor-ship, are a expedient component of full-time Nitec or Higher Nitec courses offered by the ITE, and would proudly start from January next year. More than 370 companies to offer enhanced internships to ITE students is appreciated and would be beneficial for all education sector.

It is also revealed that education Minister (Higher Education and Skills) Ong Ye Kung enumerated that intern-ships have long been a feature of vocational education in Singapore. He also added that students obtain to learn in a real industry environment and gain immense experience. Eventually in advanced development there are some 110 organizations have pledged their support to provide enhanced intern-ships to passionate students from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).

A pilot run of the enhanced intern-ship programme is currently being carried out on two courses namely the Nitec in retail services and the Higher Nitec in space design technology. It is also noted that by next year, nearly two-third of all ITE’s courses, from the schools of business and services, engineering, info-comm technology, electronics, design and media, hospitality, and applied and health sciences, would professionally provide enhanced beneficial intern-ships. Amazingly it means an estimated 7,000 placements with quality industry partners.

In recent times the popular chant for Study in Singapore is well appreciated from all corners of passionate students. By 2020, all ITE courses would have enhanced intern-ships, with durations ranging from three to six months. The eminent ITE chief executive Bruce Poh conveyed that such prosperous intern-ships would expose students to the workplace and marvel their quality skills in their selected fields.
