It is well known fact that Dr Subadhra Devi Rai, a senior lecturer at the School of Health Sciences –Nursing in Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), has been proudly named winner of the 2015 International Achievement Award by the International Council of Nurses’ Florence Nightingale International Foundation.
According to Study Singapore Educational Consultancy Dr Rai, 51, is the first Singaporean to receive this popular internationals award. She got selected from a pool of nominees worldwide for her sincere and dedication in offering exclusive nursing care to vulnerable populations since the beginning of her career. The President of the International Council of Nurses and the Florence Nightingale International Foundation was proud to announce this accolade.
Study Singapore Educational Consultancy sincerely wishes her special focus on issues such as gender-based violence, sexual health and reintegration of refugees which was specifically topical. In an appreciation to her Dr Rai began her special career in Singapore where she worked in the intensive care unit following her general nursing training. Only during this time in Canada‘s Edmonton Center for Survivors of Torture and Trauma in 1997 that she cinch began to focus on expedient health issues regarding women and refugees.
